Happy 25th
Birthday DKNY!
Fittingly, the first few pieces to grace the catwalk gave a nod to this momentous anniversary, with ‘25’ emblazoned across jackets, tees, and more.

Walking to the
sounds of the Beastie Boys, the show had a major 90s feel to it. It was then no
surprise that this wave of 90s nostalgia was equally evident in the new DKNY
collection for Spring Summer 2014. After all, who couldn’t love the classic 90s
slip dress which made an appearance once or twice.
Donna Karen had
the city girl in mind with models wearing skirt suits with trainers oozing
practicality: ‘fast fashion with an urban mind set’.
Stylistically
this superb new collection for DKNY oozes an innovative design aesthetic, where
urban 90s revival (think baseball caps, trainers, and backpacks) meets elegant
city-girl chic. The Spring Summer collection matches a combination of masculine
clean cut suits with flirtatious and feminine dresses, and surely herald some
key trends to soon filter through to the high-street.
Undoubtedly the
stand out print of the collection is paisley
in black-and-white. Look out for it to stay ahead of the curve in the coming
months.
With a deep
appreciation for crop tops, low slung trousers, ice cream shades and baseball
caps that characterise the collection, DKNY is a definite heavy-hitter in the
SS14 fashion stakes.
